Objective:

Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery aimed to create a safe, clean, and private environment for clients recovering from surgery. The space allowed clients to avoid the discomfort of healing in an open gym and provided personal trainers to guide them in maintaining their surgical results, building muscle, and adopting long-term health practices.

Project Details:

This project transformed the 3,200 sq. ft. facility into a boutique commercial gym tailored to post-operative needs. The gym was equipped with everything necessary for a comprehensive fitness journey, including:

    •    Cardio Deck: High-end treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes for varied cardio training.

    •    Selectorized Machines: A five-station setup for guided strength training with ease of use and safety for clients in recovery.

    •    Free Weights: From light dumbbells to more advanced options to facilitate a gradual strength-building progression.

    •    Smith Machine and Half Racks: For clients ready to advance their training, these features helped bridge the gap to real-world gym settings.

Design Highlights:

    •    A luxury, high-end aesthetic was achieved through carefully selected equipment, designed to provide ease of use, smooth transitions, and durability.

    •    The facility overlooked Daniel Island, South Carolina, offering a serene and inspiring view to enhance the client experience.

    •    The space was organized to mimic a real gym environment while fostering privacy and a controlled setting, ensuring clients could comfortably transition to traditional gym settings when ready.

Challenges and Solutions:

The project required balancing the aesthetic and functional needs of a luxury gym with the specific needs of post-operative clients. By selecting best-in-class equipment and designing intuitive workout zones, the facility achieved a perfect harmony of elegance and practicality.
